Can you drive golf carts on the beach at St. Joseph Peninsula State Park?
No! While St. Joseph Peninsula is a golf cart-friendly community with designated areas permissible for golf carts, golf carts are not allowed on St. Joseph Peninsula State Park Beaches. Golf carts are a wonderful way to explore our parks; please be mindful of any rules and regulations not listed here.
How old do you have to be to drive a golf cart?
We require our rental drivers to be at least 21 years old OR a licensed driver 16 years or older with a licensed driver 21+. We also ask for proof of a valid driver's license and car insurance at the time of rental.
Leave No Trace
Remove all belongings (including the rental items) from the beach at night. Gulf County does patrol and will remove any items left on the beach and discard them. The renter is responsible for the replacement of any rental items should this occur, as well as damage and/or lost revenue.
Sea Turtles
Sea Turtle Nesting season is May 1st through October 31st. Please remember during your visit to keep our Gulf County Beaches CLEAN, FLAT, & DARK for our emerging hatchlings and nesting mommas. Please fill in any holes and knock down sand sculptures before leaving the beaches. Beachfront homes are required to have subtle lighting installed; please be mindful of indoor and outdoor lighting and close the blinds or curtains – the lights mimic the moon and disorient turtles and hatchlings.
FIRES
Please check with the Park Rangers for regulations for beach fires as this may differ from other areas along Gulf County Beaches. If permitted: Please put out and remove any remnants of beach bonfires by removing the wood/cooled embers. Make sure all wood is deemed suitable for fires (i.e.: no nails, skids, trash, etc). You are able to secure a Solo Stove Bonfire rental as an add-on to make bonfires easier.
Please Note: The monitoring of Gulf County Burns Bans is your responsibility and we are not liable.
